"20. Thomas Starr, son of Samuel 19, Thomas 7, Dr. Comfort 1, b. Sept. 27, 1663, in New London, and was one of the patentees of the town Oct. 14, 1704. He soon after settled in Groton on his large farm bordering the river; was a shipwright, and built a sloop called the Sea-Flower, which he describes as 'a square-sterned vessel of 67 tuns burden, built in G.,' which he sold in 1710 for £180 sterling. He d. Jan. 31, 1711-12, at the age of 42. He married Jan. 1, 1693-4, Mary, daughter of Capt. James and Mary (Vine) Morgan, b. March 20, 1670. She d. the widow of William Peabody, Sept. 14, 1765. Aug. 2, 1696, they both entered into covenant with the Church in New London, and had their child Mary baptized."
