Personal History

Thomas Peacock, fourth son of Samuel Peacock and Mary Kittredg,[2] was born 28 November 1726, in Billerica, Province of Massachusetts Bay.[1][2] He died intestate[6] 6 October 1758, in Tewksbury (formerly a part of Billerica).[4][5]

On 14 November 1741,[3] in Billerica, Thomas Peacock, son of Samuel Peacock late of Tewksbury, aged 14 years, appeared before the Justice of the Peace and declared that he had chosen William Kittredge of Tewksbury to be his guardian. On 16 November 1741, William Kittredg, innholder, and Joseph Kittredg, husbandman, both of Tewksbury, signed a bond in the amount of £500.

In 1743 Thomas was granted a legacy of £83-15-⅔ from his father's estate to be paid by his brother William.[7]

On 18 December 1758,[6] in the probate court of Middlesex Co., Hannah Peacock, widow, was appointed administrator of the estate of her late husband Thomas Peacock late of Tewksbury, and she, along with Jonathan Kittredge, yeoman, and Joshua Baldwin, husbandman, all of Tewksbury, signed a bond in the amount of £500. Ezra Kendel, Edmund Frost Jr., and Jonathan Kittredge took an inventory of the estate on 11 December 1758; the personal estate was valued at £48-12-7, and the real estate was valued at £100. His widow was granted £13-6-8 for her privilege with an additional £20 for the care of the two children.
