    Thomas Newhall - was a farmer, and owned all the lands on the eastern side of Federal street, as far north as Marion. His house stood on the east side of the former street, a few rods south of where the brook crosses. He had two sons. 1. John, born in England. 2. Thomas born in 1630, who was the first white child born in Lynn. He married Elizabeth Potter, 29 Dec 1652, and was buried 1 April, 1687, aged 57. His wife was buried 22 Feb 1687. His descendants are more numerous than those of any other name at Lynn, and there are many in the adjacent towns.
