James McGovern, son of Thomas, and William McGovern, son of Hugh were cousins. See obit for William, son of Hugh. Thus, Thomas and Hugh were brothers.

Obit appears incorrect - not born in Limerick, IRE. I have a plat map for 1868 showing his land in the town of Portland.
