Thomas arrived in Australia with his Parents and Brothers on the Clipper Ship "james Baines" in 1855. He became a highly respected Farmer and Business Man in the Warrnambool District. It is stated in the Victorian Centenary Book, 1936. "He was well admired by all who new him, not only for his outstanding ability and probity, but for his countless charitable and philanthropic works."
