Disputed Lineages

Some websites show this Thomas as having had several children who lived in Massachusetts. This is contradicted by Thomas Barrett-Lennard, who on page 240 of his history of this family, cited below, asserts that Thomas died without leaving any children. This is supported on page 242 by reference to an "ancient MS. pedigree", which states that Thomas was unmarried in 1628, and by Thomas's will, which does not mention any children, makes Sir Francis Barnham, his brother-in-law, his executor, and which leaves the residue of his property to his great nephew, Thomas Lennard. The will may be ordered from the National Archives site (link below), and indeed mentions no children.
