Court Record, Page 23—9th December, 1701: Adms. is granted to Elizabeth the relict and Thomas the eldest son. Walter Harris of Glastonbury and John Williams of Wethersfield, sureties for £150.
Page 25—9 March, 1701-2: Invt. exhibited by Elizabeth the relict, who made oath that she had truly presented the estate that her deed, husband died seized of in his own right and as Adms. on the estate of Amos Williams decd. John Hollister, a son of Lt. Thomas Hollister, decd., chose John Hollister, son of John Hollister of Glastonbury, to be his guardian; and Joseph Hollister, son of Lt. Thomas Hollister, decd., chose Walter Harris to be his guardian. This Court order a dist. of the estate and appoint Ensign Jonathan Boreman and Jonathan Ryly to dist. the estate accordingly.

Lieut. Thomas2 Hollister (John1, born about 1648, died at Wethersfield, Conn., 8 Nov. 1701. … He was mentioned as Lieutenant at Wethersfield, May 1676; appointed Lieutenant of the Hartford County Troop, June 1676, and served in King Philip's War. He was granted 100 acres by the General Court, May 1681. In Sept. 1689, he was chosen Lieutenant (under Capt. George Denison) to raise volunteers for the Indian war. Early in 1680 he was fined with John Hale and William Wickham for excessive drinking and playing cards. On 1 Sept, 1687 Mary daughter of William Clark accused him of being the father of her child, and the Court found him to be the "reputed father." This was doubtless after the death of his first wife and before his second marriage. Lieut. Thomas Hollister, aged about 47, testified 13 Jan. 1695/6 in the Robbins land suit.
