"From a book on Spottsylvania Co. I copied the following: May 1744,Thomas Solman (I feel certain this really is Holman) of St.GeorgeParish, Sppts. co., bought from Thomas Foster of St. MarksParish, Orange Co., 400 acres amongst the Branches of Mattapony River.(* Thomas is said to have been born 1723 in Kent Co., Md.)"
