The following item must be the son of Mary Stephenson and Dr. William Hewson---the name Thomas Tickell Hewson is just too specific and unusual to be anyone else. However, TTH was born about 1770-1774. immigrated to America by 1783 and TTH would have been a minor. Its possible he did not come with his mother but remained with relatives in England. Alternatively, he may have returned to England for a visit, and ended up being naturalized on his return. There is also a record for a naturalization of a William Hewson in 1804; that could be his brother William, but again, we'd have expected him to be in America before this date. From: Ancestry
