THOMAS, Charlestown, on Mistick side, a tilemaker, or husbandman, came in 1636, with w. Bennet, and three ch. of wh. one was Mary, from Faversham, in Kent, had Elizabeth bapt. 21 Feb. 1641; and Mercy, b. 7 Nov. 1643, whose bapt. can hardly be ascert. for the ch. rec. has a gr. gap, and even that of his adm. calls the name John. He was freem. 13 May 1640, perhaps liv. at Concord 1645, but soon went back to Charlestown to m. Joanna, wid. of Daniel Shepardson, wh. d. 30 Jan. 1661, and he d. May 1676, aged 79. One Mercy C. at Malden m. 4 Nov. 1662, Samuel Lee, and, next, 25 Oct. 1677, John Allen; and Elizabeth m. Samuel Tingley, and, next, the sec. Daniel Shepardson, but I knew neither h. nor w. yet venture to conject. that he d. a. mid. age, and that his wid. m. 2. Dec. 1686, Richard Wicks, as this union is sanction. by rec. of M. tho. Richard is as much unkn. as Mercy.
