Story of when they were growing up

CLYDE NICHOLS told me this in 1996...he had been a very close friend to my Dad for 80 years...

When Tom, John, and George were teenage boys their Daddy(Preacher Bradley as he was known by} and their mother Elizabeth Jane took their younger sister Esther and went to preach a Revival Meeting, they left the boys at home to work and take care of the place.
The Nichols boys (the neighbors boys)came over to stay with the Bradley boy all about the same age..Fate Nichols was dating and he went out on a date, and when he came back home he found all the other boys had gone to bed and were asleep. Tom was asleep on a fold out sofa out in the front yard..Oklahoma had no due fall so in the summer time everybody slept out in the yard because of the heat..John was asleep on

a bed in the house..the house was small had a couple of rooms downstairs and one upstairs...the front door open into the large room where John was asleep with nothing but a night shirt on and their was a back door out of the same room with both doors open...Clyde and my dad (George) was in bed upstairs...

Fate decided to cut some twigs and gathered them together..he ran up

doped the twigs on Tom and folded the bed, ran in the front door and slapped John on the rear in and ran out the back door.. John tough Tom had done it and Tom though John had done it...they were up cursing each other out..not knowing it was Fate.

The next night it all happen again some of the sticks that Fate cut this time was about 6 feet long..again both boys were up cursing each other out..and Fate was in the back yard watching ...well while daddy was out Preaching the Gospel the boys were home cursing each other out.

...The Preachers kids....
