The stepchildren were all enumerated as Jacksons. Texanna Grogan, widow, was found in the 1900 Clay County, TN, census living with her twin boys next door to Josiah's father. The twins were only about 2 years old when Texanna and Josiah were married; so he was the only father they knew.

A descendant has filled in some missing information about Texanna and her family saying that Texanna's first marriage was to a John Dulworth. That marriage produced four children but ended in divorce. After the divorce, Texanna resumed her maiden name of Grogan. The descendant mentioned this 1900 census, saying she did not know why Texanna was said to be a widow. The step-children listed on the 1910 census should have been listed as 'Dulworth'.

Edward's age is illogical unless this was a second marriage for Josiah as well as for Texanna. I first thought the M2 on Josiah's record was an error, but after examining Edward's age and the twins ages, I tend to think it was a second marriage for him also and that Texanna was not Edward's birth mother.
