Daily Citizens-March 30, 2001; Tena Schregardus RANDOLPH - Tena Schregardus, 92, of 502 S. High Street, Randolph, died on Thursday, March 29, 2001, at Continental Manor, Randolph.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, March 31, at 11 a.m., at the Second Reformed Christian Church, Randolph. The Rev. James Admiraal will officiate. Burial will be in Randolph Cemetery.
Mrs. Schregardus was born on May 10, 1908, in Friesland, the daughter of Ray and Jenny (Alsum) Alsum. She was married on Aug. 26, 1930, to Arthur Schregardus in Friesland.
Mrs. Schregardus lived in the Randolph area all her life. Her life and Testimony of her Lord was a great witness to her family and friends. A teacher at heart, she taught or led Bible studies, beginning with migrant workers in the 1940s, to her church Bible studies, Continental Manor, Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, Beaver Dam, and Prison Ministries. As an extensive traveler, she shared her experiences via her many slide presentations to various churches in the area. She was a member of the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Continental Manor.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce (Don) Logan, Vero Beach, Fla.; one son, Ralph (Cheryl) Schregardus, Milwaukee; one daughter-in-law, Etta Schregardus, Randolph; 11 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bess Kok and Elsie Koopmans, both of Randolph; two sisters-in-law, Lena Alsum and Hendrene Alsum, both of Randolph; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur, in 1954; one son; one granddaughter; two sisters, and four brothers.
Friends may call on Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Second Christian Reformed Church, Randolph.
A memorial fund is being established for the Randolph Christian Schools.
The Randolph Community Funeral Home, is serving the family.
