  2.   Unfortunately, the baptism records only named the father, Joseph. Apparently both Source:Mitchell, Nahum. History of the Early Settlement of Bridgewater, in Plymouth County, Massachusetts and Source:Packard, Theophilus. Genealogies of Samuel Packard of Bridgewater, Mass., and of Abel Packard, of Cummington, Mass assumed the record cited in #S1 was the Susanna that was daughter of Joseph Packard and Susanna Mitchell. But they gave all the other children of Joseph in West Bridgewater (Joseph, Mary, and John) to Joseph Packard and Mary Willis? This seems inconsistent. Since the other children of Joseph and Susanna (Edward, Parnell and Judith) are not recorded in West Bridgewater, there is no reason to think that family had any children recorded there. Thus all the children recorded as Joseph's (Joseph, Mary, Susanna, and John) should belong Joseph and Mary.

See the notes for their daughter Mary regarding mention of her having a sister Susanna. This is clearly the daughter Mary attributed to Joseph Packard and Mary Willis. So, either there was a Susanna in this family, or ALL of the children attributed to this family by the Mitchell and Packard sources probably belong to the family of Joseph Packard and Susanna Mitchell.

P.S. The above was written before the wills of the two fathers were found, both naming a daughter Susanna. Thus the four baptisms found in West Bridgewater, including this Susanna, exactly match the children named in the will of Joseph Packard, husband of Mary Willis.
