Peacefully at home in Winnipeg on March 15, 1995, with family and friends at her bedside, Susan Woodward, aged 52 years, beloved wife of Thomas.

Susan was born in Winnipeg in 1942, attended Earl Grey Elementary School and Kelvin High School. She graduated from the Victoria Hospital School of Nursing in 1962 and the University of Alberta with a B.N. Her nursing career centered on obstetrics, both nursing and teaching, and public health. Susan retired from nursing to become a full-time mother and volunteer. She was active in the French Immersion movement in Winnipeg School Division #1 for ten years and was influential in the establishment of Ecole Secondaire Churchill. Susan valued friends, was fond of pets, loved to travel, and enjoyed summers at Victoria Beach.

Susan leaves to mourn her beloved husband [living], daughter [living], son [living], parents Walter and Eleanor Champion, brother ]living], sister [living] of Corpus Christi, and many other relatives and friends.

The family want to thank the many relatives and friends, especially Hanne, Dawna and Marlene, who provided support to Susan. Special thanks to the Rev. W. E. Duff, Rev. Mary Beth Flom and the special friends from St. George's. Thanks also to Drs. Krepart, Lotocki, Heywood and Gertenstein and wonderful nursing staff on WS5, Women's Hospital.

At Susan's request, cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Grosvenor at Wilton, Saturday, March 18 at 2:00 p.m. Rev. W.E. Duff will officiate. Interment will be at a later date at Victoria Beach.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. George's Memorial Fund, 168 Wilton St., Winnipeg, R3M 3C3, Manitoba Cancer Treatment Research Foundation, or a charity of one's choice.
