From the Descendants of Soloman Coker provided to me by David Sims; there is much more information on Solomon Coker; however to date I have been unable to document this information unless otherwise noted. The following information is from the report of David Sims. David has access to family papers and has done extensive research; he eventually plans to publish a book about this family.
John Coker is said to be the father of Solomon Coker. Solomon Coker died 20 Dec 1874 in Walton County, Georgia. He first married Martha 'Lucy' Hill between 1804 and 1806. Martha Hill was born about 1784 in Wilkes County, Georgia and died between 1828 and 1829.

On February 4, 1830, Solomon Coker married Keziah McDonald in Walton County, Georgia. His first wife, name unknown, probably died.
In 1830 Solomon Coker was enumerated in Newton County, Georgia, but he probably had not changed his residence. Newton County was created from portions of Henry, Jasper and Walton in 1821. [Alice Eicholz, editor, Ancestry's Redbook (Salt Lake City, UT: Ancestry, 1992), 154.]. The Solomon Coker household was enumerated in the 1830 census in Newton County, Georgia as follows:
- One free white male 40 to 50 [Solomon Coker]
- One free white male 15 to 20 [Jackson Coker]
- One free white male 10 to 15 [Yancy Coker]
- Three free white males 5 to 10 [Solomon Coker] [Two unknown]
- One free white female 15 to 20 [Keziah McDonald Coker]
- One free white female 10 to 15 [Ann Coker]
- No slaves.
Since the 1820 census: # of children missing: two of the males and two of the females are not in the household. In 1830 two of the males would be 20 to 26; and one female would be 20 to 26 and one female under 20.
The Solomon Coker household was enumerated in the 1840 census in Walton County, Georgia as follows:
- One free white male 50 to 60 [Solomon Coker]
- Two free white males 15 to 20 [Solomon Coker]
- One free white male 10 to 15 [Unknown]
- One free white female 40 to 50 [daughter, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law ?]
- One free white female 20 to 30 [Keziah McDonald]
- One free white female 5 to 10 [Unknown]
- One free white female under 5 [Nancy Coker]
- Three in agriculture. No slaves.
In 1840 one female, age 20 to 25, is not in the household. At least one of the males is not in the household, age 20 to 25.
