- Page 873.--20th May, 1765. Same (From Joseph Carpenter, Sr.) to Solomon Carpenter, planter, £10, 160 acres, John Man's line. Delivered: Wm. Huggart, 4th November, 1772.

- Vol. 1 - Bowyer vs. Carpenter.--1762, July 16th. Solomon and Joseph Carpenter, debtor to John Bowyer. Credit by 6 1/2 pounds beaver skins, at 4/ per pound.
- Vol. 1 - MAY, 1763 (B). - Wright vs. Carpenter.--This day Mr. Solomon Carpenter swore before me that at the time of Mr. Joseph Carpenter giving a warrant to Peter Wright to apprehend two deserters at Fort Young said Wright gave ye warrant to Thos. Fitzpatrick to read and said he could not make out some words, and he read it out over in public, and begun it again, when said deponent went off, and he further sayeth yt ye deserters were not far off at ye time. Given under my hand this 17th April, 1763. (Signed) John Dickinson.

Corrigan and Joseph Carpenter, Jr.

- Vol. 2 - CIRCUIT COURT JUDGMENTS. - APRIL, 1791 (A to H).John Robinson, administrator of Solomon Carpenter, vs. Elizabeth and Samuel McDowell--Writ to Rockbridge. Bond to James McDowell to Solomon, 10th July, 1771. Elizabeth is widow of James McDowell. Deposition, 8th December, 1790, of Samuel McDowell, Sr. Samuel was brother of James, who died October, 1771.
- Vol. 2 - McDowell vs. Robinson--O. S. 27; N. S. 9--Bill dated 5th May, 1791. Elizabeth McDowell, widow of James McDowell, who died October, 1771, intestate, leaving an only son James, an infant. Samuel McDowell of Kentucky, brother of James, qualified with Elizabeth, as Admrs. Deposition of Samuel McDowell in Mercer County, Kentucky, 20th November, 1792. Elizabeth brought suit in Botetourt in 1772, against Solomon Carpenter, which was tried in 1784. Solomon died before 1784 intestate, leaving several children, of whom Thomas was oldest; also a son, Jeremiah Carpenter. John Carpenter was son and heir of Thomas Carpenter. Copy of deed, 12th August, 1779. Moses Mann, son and heir of John Mann, dec'd, of Botetourt, and Fanny, his wife, to Jeremiah Carpenter of Greenbrier County. Proved in Botetourt, August, 1779.
