"Simon Eire, b. Aug. 6, 1652, in Boston, to whom his grandfather made a bequest 'for furthering him in Learneing' (see Dr. Comfort’s will, page vi). He became a merchant in New Haven, Ct.; m. July 22, 1679, Mrs. Elizabeth Allerton, widow of his cousin, Benjamin Starr, and had two daughters, who secreted in their own home in N. H. the Regicides from their pursuers."
