  1. ↑ Source:Towne, Edwin Eugene. Descendants of William Towne, p. 821, says Simeon is "supposed to be the son of Simeon [Towne] and Hepzibah Symonds, of Andover". But this is nearly impossible, since their marriage in 1779 means he would be under 15 in 1794 when he married, if there was such a son. No Simeon Town is found born after 1751 (when the Simeon who married Hepzibah was born, Jr. indicating this one was younger) and before 1775 (which is about the latest date consistent with a marriage in 1794.
