Physician Well Known Here, Passes Away in Dallas, Tex.
Dr. Sidney J. Gano, for many years medical referee in New Orleans for the Equitable Life Assurance Society, died in Dallas, Tex., July 14 [sic] and was buried there on the afternoon of July 15. Dr. Gano was was a native of Lexington, Ky., and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Early in his medical practice in Dallas he received a flattering offer from the Equitable and was stationed at St. Louis and New Orleans. He stood high in the esteem of the company and his associates. Dr. Gano is termed by his friends and acquaintances in New Orleans and Dallas "a gentleman of the old school." He returned to Dallas about twelve years ago, where he became connected with dthe Great Southern Life. Dr. Gano leaves two sisters -- Mrs. (Dr.) Hugh L. McLaurin and Mrs. Tom Scurry, and a brother, Maurice Gano, a leading lawyer of Dallas.
