    GDMNH: Thomas Canney , lived at Thompson’s Point, Dover Neck, at the mouth of Cochecho River d. 15 May 1677, his wid. taxed that yr. List 359a. Inv. attested 25 June 1678 by Sarah [Taylor] and John Wingate. Wife Sarah Taylor (daughter of Anthony), who m. 2d John Wingate, 3d Richard Paine. Thomas Canny's family bible marked ‘Thomas Canny his Book god Giv him grace therin to Looke,’ and ‘Sarah Pain,’ came down in the Wingate family and is now in the writer’s poss.
