pg 2, 6 Mar 1875.
To my Daughter Sarah "Dicks" works 5 Vols Cowper & Thomsons Do 1 Vol and further, I wish an equal distribution made of the proceeds of whatever may remain of my Estate real or personal, after the Decease of my Wife to the following named persons, after satisfying all my just debts,
Sarah my eldest Daughter Thomas Biggars my eldest Son Emma Radcliffe Benjamin Charles Children of my first wife "Sarah Ann" of blessed memory
Elizabeth Herron Clara Myers Henry my youngest living Son Mary Ann Harris Ellen Groom my youngest Daughter Children of my second wife Susan Elizabeth
Howard Radcliffe my Fatherly Grand Son and Thaddeus Victor my step son whose name was changed by act of Legislature from Szymanski to Taber & having adopted my name, is therefore the Son of My Adoption.
[The way this will was written, Sarah does not appear as if she were married as Thomas made a point to indicate the married names of all of his daughters, nor was she apparently living in Cleveland as Thomas put pen to paper. In fact, the following written at the end of his will suggests possible familial difficulties:
"A slightly different disposition would have been made of the household effect were all my children resident in Cleveland. Praying, trusting that Brotherly love may abound & continue that no root of bitterness may spring up, but that all differences may cease I herewith affix my signature this 6th Day of March in the Year of our Lord 1875"
Also, Sarah and Thomas Biggars were not among the signers of the Probate for Thomas' will in Oct 1879, which further illustrates neither of them were living in Cleveland, or were within easy distance for dealing with their father's estate. Perhaps this may otherwise be an indication that there were some difficulties between the children of his two marriages. There wasn't a complete split, as Emma Radcliffe, youngest daughter of his first marriage, was among the Probate signers. In either case, this deserves further research.]

The Church of Our Savior is a Protestant Episcopal Church, an Anglican Church. Sarah was raised in a Presbyterian Church. As to why she married in an Anglican Church, perhaps it was because her husband was English and probably still adhered to the Anglican Church.

- ↑ Sarah appears in the record of the 42nd Street Church in 1849 as "baptized before Thos T joined the 42nd Street Church." Her father is known to have joined the Eighth Presbyterian Church in May 1835. There is no record of a second baptism at that church.
