Unable to locate Sarah in the 1930 Census in San Benito County. There is a Sarah La Rue listed as an inmate at Agnews Insane Asylum in Santa Clara, and it is quite possibly her. In the committal papers of her grandson, Conover Austin, to Agnews in 1923, his father, George Austin, notes that a possible source of Conover's disorder may be hereditary, as his grandmother, Sarah, is described as "highly eccentric." Also, her obituary mentions her not being seen around Hollister in recent years, which may be another clue.
