Probate Records, 1686-1903; with Index and Docket, 1685-1967, v. 43, p. 386 (FHL film 0550902) In the name of God amen I Sarah Reed of Bridgwater in the County of Plymouth Widow woman being weak in body, but sound in mind & memory do make & ordain this my last will & Testament taking into consideration the certainty of Death & the uncertainty of Life, do dispose of my worldly matters as follows viz - first of all I recommend my Soul unto God who gave it[,] my Body to the Dust to buried in a decent manner, and as to my worldly Estate I dispose of it in manner following viz- 1st. I give and bequeath unto my Son Joshua two hundred Dollars to be paid him in one year after my decease 2'd. I give and bequeath to my Son Jacob one hundred & fifty Dollars & one feather Bed & Bedding to be paid him in one year after my decease. Also I give to my Son Jacob a piece of new Cotton & Linen Cloth about ten years - And the remainder of my Estate both Real & personal I give & bequeath unto my five Children & the Children of my Son Luke Reed deceased to be equally divided between them & I do hereboy appoint my Son Joshua my sole Executor to this my last will and Testament - In witness whereof I the said Sarah have hereunto set my hand & Seal this twenty sixth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & eleven.
