  6. "A few years after her marriage the family moved on a farm of 80 acres ofnew land near Etna Green, Ind. About 1866 they sold out and went toMichigan. A few months later moved to Iowa. While looking about for afarm, the bank in which they had deposited their money, failed, thuslosing all they had saved. Shortly after this they hitched to theirwagon and drove to Repubic county, Kansas, near Narka. Here they took upa "homestead." Her older son now of sufficient age, also took up a likeclaim. Mr. Hale died at this place, February 10, 1889. The widow livedwith her younger son and died in Narka nearly 15 years later."
