[edit] Information on Sarah McKeeSarah McKee was born circa 1786, and died on June 25, 1865. She married John Giffin on March 25, 1803. The officiating minister was the Rev. James Walls, who was a Methodist. John was born in 1779 and died May 16, 1850. The surname has sometimes been confused with Griffin. The Giffin family lived on Timber Ridge. near the line that divides Hampshire from Frederick County. John and Sarah Giffin were buried in the Capon Chapel Cemetery, Hampshire County. Children of John and Sarah (McKee) Giffin were: a. William Giffin was born on Oct. 20, 1806, and died June 29, 1882, He married Sarah 'Sally' Pugh, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Gaudy) Pugh. Sally was born Jan. 27, 1811 and died Feb. 8, 1894. They were buried in the Capon Chapel Graveyard in Hampshire County. b. Jane Giffin was born circa 1810, and died Dec. 18, 1886. She married Robert J. Pugh, son of Joseph and Mary (Gaudy) Pugh. Nov. 17, 1841, in Frederick County. Robert was born Sept. 23, 1814, and died Oct. 14, 1894. He was a farmer. They were buried at Capon Chapel In Hampshire County. c. John GIffin Jr. was born in 1811 and died Aug. 10, 1884. He married Mary L. Brown, daughter of William and Emily Brown, on June 15, 1863. After his death, his widow. Mary, married Aquilla Householder. d. James Giffin was born on Sept 29, 1815, and died Oct. 29.1868. He married Eliza Jane Kackley, daughter of Abraham and Christina (Whissen) Kackley, May 3. 1842. Eliza Jane was born April 28, 1815, and died March 10, 1897. They lived near Timber Ridge, and were buried in the Bethel Methodist Graveyard. e. Sarah Giffin, born in 1816, married William Milleson. He was a farmer In Frederick County. 1. Margaret Giffin was born June 22, 1822, and died April 10, 1886. She married Aquilla Householder. Margaret was buried in the Bethel Methodist Graveyard. g. Bartholomew Giffin was born Sept. 2, 1825, and died May 29, 1862. He married Elizabeth Fletcher, April 6, 1848, by the Rev. Christy Sine. Elizabeth was born on April 20. 1827 and died March 14, 1901.
