Sarah Higgins was found in the 1850 census, age 17, living in the home of Almeron Bristol, in Constantine MI. She was married from his home in 1854. Sarah's father was David Higgins, a blacksmith, who had moved west from Vermont to Constantine and died about 1847. Her mother, Mary Randall, then married Almeron Bristol. Mary Randall's line has been traced back to England; her people were here in the 1640's or earlier and there probably are some Revolutionary War veterans among them; I have not looked at this yet.
