Sarah ELlis's origins have yet to be established. Her first confirmed sighting is on 1st December 1728, when she married a labourer called Thomas Allen at Kirkby la Thorpe in Lincolnshire. They went on to have three children baptised at Kirkby la Thorpe between 1729 and 1735, although the first child died as a baby.

Sarah died in 1739, being buried at Kirkby la Thorpe on 21st April 1739. Thomas survived her by nearly 45 years and remarried two years after her death.
