    The 10th of January, 1842, on Green Brier Run, near New Salem, Va., after a protracted illness which she born with christian fortitude, Sally consort of Eld. Peter Davis, in her 56th year. Sister Davis has been a member of the New Salem church nearly 41 years. She has left a large circle of relations, children, &c. and a kind husband to mourn their loss; society has lost a worthy member, acquaintance a kind friend, and children a tender mother, but no doubt not her reward in heaven is great.
