Samuel Rouse was a descendant of Johann Rausch/John Rouse, who arrived in America about 1717. He settled with the German immigrants who had formed Fort Germanna. Germanna is a community of German immigrants to Culpeper Co., VA. They had a German language church there which still stands, it is called Hebron Lutheran Church.

Samuel Rouse, and his son Michael Rouse both arrived in Boone Co., KY with the earliest settlers from Culpeper, VA and is also shown on the 1820 census with John Swindle at Boone Co, KY. Further more, Samuel Rouse was a Revolutionary War Vet, and testified to the service of John Swindl
