[Note: It is unlikely that Samuel died on his birthday. First of all, there is no such birth date in the records. Second, given the death record, it is likely Reed got confused. Given that the two death dates above are so far apart, it seems intuitive and consistent to believe the gravestone has the correct death date, 4 Jan 1756, and therefore it is likely that the other date meant to give a birthdate. So, assuming a common misreading, born 20 Jan 1735, died 4 Jan 1756, as for example, suggested on the Find A Grave memorial. However, this is entirely speculative, as this is not what the published records say, and where Reed got his unique and unlikely arrangement is not clear.]
