There was a child named Samuel Puddephatt who was buried on 10th October 1804 at Caddington. However, given that this Samuel's father's will written in 1812 refers to his son Samuel, either that burial is not this Samuel, or it is him and his parents went on to have another son named Samuel. No baptism of another Samuel to these parents has been found, but there was another Samuel who could be the 1804 burial - Samuel son of Samuel and Mary Puddephatt baptised 22nd April 1804 in the neighbouring town of Dunstable. It is therefore considered likely that the 1804 burial is not the Samuel the subject of this page.
