↑ Even though recorded in Middleton, it is clear these events occurred in Topsfield. By comparing records of the two towns for this family, it is clear that Francis moved to Middleton in the mid-late 1720's, and presumably took his family Bible into the town clerk to "register" all his children. At this time, the clerk of Middleton was made aware of, and recorded, a child that was never lived in Middleton, but had died so young he was never recorded in Topsfield, and in doing so, preserved this child for us to find.
