    The eleventh child of James and Ann Gray McClung was born 21 May 1773 in Rockbridge County, VA. (p. 77). He married in Kentucky 5 Apr 1804 to Mary Cloyd. She was born 20 Nov 1773 and died 24 Oct 1852. They moved from VA to KY, thence to Clark Co., OH, thence to Jefferson Co., IN, then to Montgomery Co., IN, then in 1847 to Dalhonega, Iowa. Samuel was a farmer. They had five children. Samuel died 16 Jul6 1852 in Dahlonga, Iowa.
