  • Vol. 2 - MARRIAGES LICENSES IN AUGUSTA COUNTY. - 1770--January 23, Samuel Kilpatrick. (Note: only name of groom is listed).
  • 10 November 1837 - In which Joshua Johnson and Jane his wife, and Moses Baker and Mary his wife, of County of Montgomery, State of Ohio, of one part - and John McChesney of County of Augusta, State of Virginia. Witnesseth: whereas Samuel Kilpatrick, late of the County of Augusta, by his last Will did devise to Peggy Cunningham and her children, which were six in number, all the residue of his estate, etc. (Will aforesaid being dated 25 January 1818) - and whereby the said Peggy Cunningham, and her six children, of whom the above named Jane Johnson and Mark [sic, s/b "Mary"] Baker are two of them, each became entitled to an undivided one seventh part of a tract of land containing 116 acres - etc. - and whereas the said Peggy Cunningham has departed this life intestate - sell said John McChesney for $65 the two undivided sixth parts, also the undivided seventh part, etc. Witnesses: J.W. Harker, Erasmus Harker. Notarized before J.W. Harker and John Anderson, Justices of the Peace of Montgomery County, Ohio. Recorded: Augusta County, January 15, 1838 by Jeff Kinney, Clerk.   • 16 March 1841 - Susan Cunningham and Jackson Cunningham of County of Montgomery, State of Ohio, of one part sell John McChesney of County of Augusta, State of Virginia for $60.00 - whereas Samuel Kilpatrick, late of Augusta County, State of Virginia, by his last Will devise to Peggy Cunningham and her six children - all the residue of his estate (Will dated 25 January 1818) and said Susan and Jackson Cunningham are two of the children and entitled to an undivided one seventh part of a tract of land containing 116 acres - etc. - Witnesses: Hervey Copeland, J.P., George Swanke (both of Montgomery County, Ohio) - Certified by Edwin Smith, Clerk of Court of Montgomery County, Ohio.
