Message Board Post:

I am researching the Samuel Kerr who married Elizabeth McClure and lived on a farm between Waynesboro and Fishersville, Virginia. The Wine family now owns the farm and I am interested in the history of the place where I grew up.

The following is all the information I have.

Samuel Bell Kerr - born - about 1802/3 died - November 1865 in Augusta Co. VA Father - Alexander Kerr Mother - Sarah Bell

Married - Elizabeth H. McClure

Children: Alexander Kerr - b. about 1830 Elizabeth Kerr - b. abt. 1834 David M. Kerr - b. abt. 1836 Sarah J. Kerr - b. 1841 James T. Kerr - b. abt. 1845

Sarah J. Kerr's tombstone is still on the farm. She died Jan. 19, 1847, aged 5 yrs. 7 mo. and 4ds. There were other graves there, but no markers. My grandfather contacted the Kerr family when he bought the farm and no one ever came to see about the graveyard.

Does this help?
