Wife of Samuel Frazier

Advisory: some researchers believe that Ann, wife of this Samuel Craig Frazier was Ann Allen, daughter of Robert Allen who named his daughter "Ann Frazier" in his will written in 1785, but Ann Allen appears to have been born some 20+ years BEFORE this Samuel Frazier, making this very unlikely. Most researchers claim that Samuel Craig Frazier married Ann Gay (parentage undetermined at this time). Needs additional research.

Samuel Frazier of Mason County Virginia Posted by: Kathy Frazier (ID *****8792) Date: June 02, 2007 at 11:17:

Seeking info regarding the ancestors of a Samuel Frazier who registered 50 acres along Hurricane Creek in Mason County, Va in 1813 per a land treasury warrant issued on 12/24/1783. Research done by others claim that Samuel was the son of John Frazier and Janet Gay of Augusta County,Va. (NOTE: This is incorrect!) However, in my research of Augusta County records from 1745-1800, I learned that John died in 1809 and left his property to his nieces and nephews. No wife or children were mentioned in the will. Samuel's wife was Ann (?) and because Ann appeared as the head of the household on the 1820 census of Mason County, previous researchers assume he died before then. However, based on the age counts of household members I suspect he was still alive at the time but incapacitated in some way. I seem to have hit the familiar "family history brick wall" in learning about this Samuel Frazier's ancestors. Anybody out there have anything that might help me to break through? Many thanks.
