Holden: GM&O Employee Dies After Brief Illness Stricken with an acute heart attack at his home Sunday morning, Samuel Lloyd Darsey, 56, of 2642 St. Luke St., died at 10:25 p.m. at Rush Memorial hospital. He has resided in Meridian for the past 51 years and was employed by the Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Railroad for 41 years. Very active in the South Side Baptist church, Mr. Darsey is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eron Wright Darsey; one son, Tommy Darsey; two grandchildren; stepmother, Mrs. S. T. Darsey, Meridian; brother, E. L. Darsey, Otsego, Mich.; and one nephew. The body is at Webb's where funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. W. E. Spped [Speed], pastor, South Side Baptist church, Tuesday at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Magnolia cemetery. Pallbearers: R. L. Talbert, M. F. Rayburn, Louie Godwin, Wallace Poythress, Lon Douglas, R. E. Crawford and T. J. Calhoun.; honorary, W. J. Carter, L. N. Keeton, J. C. Zachry, E. A. McAdoo, Walter Rogers and employes of the GM&O and other friends of the family.
