Note: Crane is correct in specifying that the first Samuel died, even though no death record for the first, nor birth of second has been found. The probate of the father makes it clear that the surviving son Samuel was a minor, hence born after 1716. Also, his death date appears to be 1814 (see Find A Grave), which seems to be unlikely with a birth in 1712.
