According to Rosemary Jennings-Gray, Rose suffered from Arthritis the last few years of her life which made her an invalid. Apparently the Newington branch of the Denny family knew Charlie Chaplin, his mother and brother Sydney, who lived nearby. Rose also spoke Yiddish as they lived near the East End and the Jewish community, as did Rosemary's father, William John Gray.
