About Robert Usher
Robert Usher was born on 17 February 1744, likely in Augusta County, Virginia. Robert appears to be the brother of Ann Jenny, Margaret and Martha Usher, sisters and children of Edward Usher and Jane Perry. Edward Usher died prior to 11 February 1745, leaving his wife Jane and her three young daughters. One daughter, Ann Jenny, has her guardianship records listed in Chalkley's Augusta County transcripts. In Morton's "Annals of Bath County, Virginia", he states: There was almost certainty a brother, who must of emigrated from this region, and Robert appears to be that brother. Robert married Sarah [surname not currently known], likely in Virginia and later migrated to Christian County, Kentucky with the family of his son David in 1811, and was listed in the household in the 1830 U.S. Census. Robert Usher stayed there in Christian County until his death on 22 April 1836.
