Robert was the first Tucker to settle in Milton. He lived on Brush Hill in 1663. At the time of the publishing of The History of Milton, his house could "still be seen at the rear of 676 Brush Hill Road <see drawing> [The History of Milton, p. 261].

Per the Suffolk County Probate records (9-81), Robert was a prominent citizen of Milton. He served as a selectman for 10 years. Economically, he was well above the average. There were about 68 resident taxpayers in the town in his time; 9 paid more tax than he did while 58 paid less. He lived on Brush Hill Road near the end of Robbins street. His house still stands although not on its original site. His total estate would be worth about $50,000 today.

He was evidently one of the more prosperous farmers with a well furnished house and considerable provisions in stock. There is a surprisingly large sum allotted to the value of his books, about £2 (which in those days was the equivalent value of one cow!).

His estate does not lists a farm cart or other agricultural implements. His inventory shows that two of his sons were farming some of his land. It seems inferred that he had already passed these tools to them by the time of his death.

He was about 77 years old when he died.
