Services Sunday for Motel Owner

Robert H. Todd, 43, owner and operator of the Norman Courts the past two and one-half years, died in his sleep sometime Wednesday night at his home 1220 Camden Way. He was at the courts Thursday and apparently in good health.

Services, with cremation to follow later, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Primrose Funeral Home with Dr. Finis Crutchfield officiating.

Born in Chicago, Ill, Dec. 3, 1910, Todd attended high school in Delaware, Ohio, and received a degree from Ohio State University in 1933.

While an engineer with the American Telephone and Telegraph Company in Denver, Colo., for 10 years, he was sent to Alaska for installation of coastal cables for Army artillery. During World War II he was a lieutenant in the Navy for two and one-half years. He was in the Naval Reserve and member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity.

He came to Norman from Denver two and one-half years ago and purchased the Norman Courts which he managed. He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lucile [sic] Todd; one son, Larry, Norman; one daughter, Cheryl, Norman; his mother, Mrs. Janet Todd, Norman Courts; one brother, Dr. Will Todd, Tacoma, Wash.; and two sisters, Mrs. Janet Young, San Francisco, and Mrs. Leinor [sic] Martin, Los Angeles.

Rites Sunday for Norman Motel Owner

Services will be Sunday for Robert H. Todd, 43-year-old owner-manager of the Norman Courts, who died unexpectedly Friday in his home after suffering a heart attack. He had lived in Norman since buying the motel 3 1/2 years ago.

A native of Chicago, where he was born Dec. 3, 1910, Todd attended high school in Delaware, Ohio, and was graduated from Ohio State University in 1933. He was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity there.

Before coming to Norman he was an engineer in the American Telephone and Telegraph Col. in Denver for 10 years, and at one time was sent to Alaska to install coastal cables for artillery. He also served 2 1/2 years in World War II as a naval lieutenant.

Surviving are the widow, Lucille, a son, Larry, and a daughter, Cheryl, all of the home; his mother, Mrs. Janet Todd, Norman, a brother, Dr. William Todd, Tacoma, Wash., and two sisters, Mrs. Janet Young, San Francisco, and Mrs. Elinor Martin, Los Angeles.

Rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. at the Primrose funeral chapel. The body will be cremated.
