Acquisition of Land from Chalkley's:

• Page 295.--Patent to Robert Stevenson, (330 acres), 16th August, 1756, and by him devised to his son Thomas Stevenson, and by Thomas to Thomas Dixon.

• Page 260.--Patent to Robert Stevenson, deceased, 16th August, 1756. (Note: appears to be a duplicate of record above).

• Page 30.--16th November, 1773. Thomas Stevenson and Elizabeth to Thomas Dixon, 330 acres patented to Robert Stevenson, 16th August, 1756, and devised to his son Thomas. Teste: Thomas Stevenson.

Will of Robert Stephenson

• Page 528.--12th August, 1772. Robert Stephenson's will--To wife, Martha; to son, Thomas, all lands; to each of living daughters, $1; to "my Mary Rankin, my daughter-in-law"; to grandchildren and Mary Rankin. Executors, John Polock and James Allen, Jr. Teste: James Anderson, Joseph (his mark) Reaburn, James Allen, Sr. Proved, 18th August, 1772. James Poage ("executor therein named") and James Allen qualify with Jno. Anderson, James Allen. (Note: Mary Rankin mentioned in Robert Stephenson's will was actually his "step-daughter", daughter of his second-wife Martha's first marriage to George Rankin, who died in 1760).

• Page 262.--16th August, 1774. Robert Stephenson's estate settled Paid Thomas Stephens, Sr. (Stephenson?), Anderson Scoot.

• Page 206.--__ March, 1767. John ( ) Davis and Judey ( ) to Samuel McKee, £45, 230 acres on Walker's Run, a branch of Middle River, between William and Robert Stevenson's lands.

• Vol. 1 - Copy of the will of Samuel Woods, dated 8th January, 1781. I, Samuel Woods, of the County of Amherst, Rockfish Settlement. To wife, Sarah, land purchased of Thomas Patton. To eldest son, James, 350 acres in Albemarle, joining Henry Kerr and Alexander Fretwell. To son, William (infant), two tracts in Amherst, joining Rockfish Meeting House, formerly the property of William Patton and William Crow; and mill property, formerly belonging to Robert and Edward Stephenson, David Black (Clack, Clark?), William Clark, and Langsdon Depriest. To three youngest daughters, to be schooled. To five daughters. Executors, Gabriel Penn, Francis Merriweather, James Brooks, James Woods, Jr., and William Woods.
