Moved to Washington Co, Illinois in the late 1820s. His first wife died there and he married Elizabeth Joiner. They had 8 children in Illinois, Alabama and Missouri, where they arrived about 1843. One family rumor says he took in his brother John's children after John died in 1836. Robert would have been moving from Illinois to Alabama at the time.

Robert and Elizabeth died in 1849. In 1850, Nancy Tipton in Greene Co, MO has Morrow children in her household: Mary (13 AL or IL), Monroe J. (11 AL or IL), Robert (3 MO) and George (15 IL) Morrow. By 1860, their two youngest sons Thomas and Robert were living with Robert's oldest son William. The youngest daughter Elizabeth was living with Isaac.
