Robert Montgomery, the veteran of the Revolution, true to his Scotch ancestry, was a staunch Presbyterian. The family were supporters of the Old Fall Creek Presbyterian Church in Liberty Twp. When their young son, Randolph, died in 1825, he was buried in the nearby cemetery. Robert Montgomery, who acquired a landed estate, passed away Jan. 27, 1847. Sarah (Skidmore) Montgomery, his worthy companion of 51 years, died Sept. 7, 8 months after her husband. They were buried in the Fall Creek Presbyterian Cemetery.
