    Son of William Lowther and Martha Vastine Laybourne. He immigrated to Plymouth Rock in 1729 then went to PA. Married to Aquilla Reese 20 Feb 1736 in Philadelphia, PA at 1st Presbyterian Church by Rev. Whitefield. They left PA in 1740. In 1742, they were in Shadwell, Albermarle Co, VA; 1756 in Hampshire Co, VA; 1763, Fairmont, WV; 1772, Clarksburg, WV. Robert's father disowned him for renouncing his Quaker origins. Died at Hacker's Creek.

    1.ROBERT LOWTHER

    Robert Lowther was born in Westmeath, Ireland in 1714 and died in Harrison County VA in 1780. He married Aquilla Reese/Reece February 20, 1735/36 in First Presbyterian Church, Philadelphia, PA. Aquilla, a daughter of Joseph and Rebecca Reese, was born in 1715 in Plumstead Township, Bucks County, PA and died in 1747 in Harrison County VA.

    A Robert Lowther is credited with 132 days ser4vice in Captain William Lowther’s company of Va militia during Lord Dunmore’s War in 1774.
