Robert E. Hicks passed away suddenly at this home. He graduated fromEast Grand Rapids High School, Class of 1948 and form the Universityof Michigan Architectural School in 1956. He served with the US ArmyIntelligence Corp. and spent 18 months in Japan during the KoreanConflict. After graduation he joined the Roger Allen and AssociatesArchitectural Firm in Grand Rapids. He started his own architecturalfirm in the early 1960's retiring in the early 1990's. His workincluded the designing of upscale homes, theaters and medicalbuildings. He was also involved with the restorations of FountainStreet Church and St. mark's Episcopal Church. In 1978 in Grand Rapidshe married his friend and wife Lee, who survives him.
