1796 - There is a baptism recorded for Robert Lister HALES at Wilsford, Lincolnshire on 26 March 1796. Parents' names are William HALES and Elizabeth LISTER. However, his birthdate is recorded as 22 March 1797 according to the memorial inscription provided by Grantley Hutchens. Consequently, the baptism may have been a sibling who died as an infant, or else there may be an error in his monumental inscription or in its transcription.

1841 - With wife, 7 children, 2 servants and 3 taylors [sic] at Ancaster, Lincolnshire. Draper, aged 40, born in the county. Mother appears to be recorded next door.
