[edit] NotesAppears to be the same family: Subj: Kerr/Robertson Date:03/12/2000 6:01:30 PM Pacific Standard Time From:jmortens@@uswest.net (James Mortensen) Reply-to:jmortens@@uswest.net To:Delijim@@aol.com I just found your inquirey at the Kerr website. The James Kerr family lookslike they may be among my lines. I am descended from Robert Givens and Margaret Robertson. I know that her father was William Robertson. Robert Givens married Margaret Robertson in Augusta Co., Va. 29 March 1785 (date from marriage bond). Marriage bond identified William Robertson as her father. Will of William Robertson proved 1812 Augusta Co. Three of his daughters married Givens men:
John Givens and George Givens were brothers. Robert Givens was their first cousin. Their grandfather, Samuel Givens, proved his importation ca. 1738 from Northern Ireland to Orange Co. Va. He arrived first in Pennsylvania and then moved to Virginia, dying in 1740. He had been one of the four Orange Co. Justices for the area that became Augusta Co. Robert Givens and Margaret Robertson had the following children:
Does the above William Robertson seem to be the one you listed as marrying Letitia Kerr? If so do you have any more information on him and the Kerr family. I do know that at least one of Robert Givens' relatives married a Kerr in Augusta Co. (don't know if it was a relative of Letitia). Thank You, James Mortensen References
